Sea ’n Art

Sea ’n Art

Beirut Souks in collaboration with Big Time launched Sea ’n Art on July 3, 2013, in Beirut Souks, a social project which aims to combine art with charity.

Sea’n Art is a fundraising exhibition of 50 talented Lebanese  artists’ own interpretive designs of the Lebanese dorade fish.  These artists include architects, sculptors, fashion designers, graffiti artists, painters, jewelry designers, photographers, mosaic artists, and floral designers.

The exhibit will last for 3 months and all the proceeds from the online auction will be divided among three Lebanese children’s non-profit organizations: Tamanna, Heartbeat, and Toufoula.

Tamanna grants wishes to children with critical illnesses; Heartbeat is a non-profit organization that aims at treating children with heart disease; and Toufoula is a NGO that provides colorful and fantastical hospital rooms for children with Cancer.

Anyone can log on to the Sea’n Art website and register in order to bid on the 50 exhibition pieces.  The bidder can see all the pieces and learn about the artists who designed them.  The proceeds go to a great cause and the exhibition celebrates Lebanese culture and design.
