16 Egyptian Women Entrepreneurs Who Rock the GEW

Panelists at the Women Entrepreneurship of Egypt GEW event.

“A simple event that we announced a month ago has developed into an ongoing movement,” says the founder of Women Entrepreneurs of Egypt, the country’s first network of Egyptian women entrepreneurs.

Last Saturday 22, in tune with the Global Entrepreneurship Week, the group held its second event, where 16 booming projects owned by women were presented in a collective effort to join strengths, cooperate and share ideas. The projects included pioneering efforts such as Formula Student Car, a competition that challenges students to build a race car, and Aurora Beams Life Coaching, a 5-step self-development program for women.

The network was created by Rasha Abo Elsoud, a serial entrepreneur who also founded two innovative projects: The Workshops and Maktaby, a resource center that uses technology to empower women through skill development and employ-ability in the MENA region.
