Ladies, This Rails Girls Workshop Will Teach You How to Code for Free

Girls and women interested in learning how to code are in luck! Rails Girls, an organization that travels around the world organizing workshops that aim to teach girls how to use basic web applications and web coding, will be hosting its first ever session in the Middle East. The organization was founded by Linda Luikas and Karri Saarinen, when they hosted their first Rails Girls event back in November 2010 in Helsinki, Finland and were shocked that over 100 girls signed up for the workshop. After that success, the free events expanded to all over the world, with workshops held in Shanghai, Singapore, Tallinn, Berlin, and more.

During the workshops, girls get introduced to concepts that include sketching, prototyping, and basic programming. The workshops mainly teach the programming language Ruby on Rails (hence the name), a language that is gaining massive popularity due to its growing number of users and the way it was built to help developers increase their productivity and learning curve.
The workshop will finally be coming to the Middle East! Taking place in Amman, Jordan on December 19 at the main offices of Boundless Drop, the official sponsors for the event.

For more information: If you are living in Jordan and interested in attending the event, sign up at the workshop’s registration website here. And for more information about Rails Girls check out their website and follow them on Facebook.
