Here’s Why You Should Hear What This American Activist Says About Gaza (VIDEO)

There is something about Gaza: every person who has been there, who has sat and talked to Palestinians, and has walked through its narrow streets, go back home inevitably in love with it. Every single one.

At the age of 68, retired American activist Denny Cormier began a journey to Gaza last march 2014, “in search of the truth about Palestine,” as he puts it. He wanted to see for himself and contrast the reality he had been hearing from friends in Gaza with the reality the media was reporting. And when Operation Protective Edge orchestrated a 50-day attack to Gaza, he chose not to leave. He chose to report what was happening, to support displaced families, and to talk to the victims. To this day, he still lives in Gaza.

Gaza Through My Eyes is a series of short documentaries about this journey; but more strikingly, they are a frank, candid account of what leads all visitors to relentlessly fall in love with Gaza.

Spoiler: You probably already know the kid that often appears on the video.
