Bassita, the Egyptian startup revolutioning charity through clickfunding, has just launched a campaign to support art and cultural exchanges, helping talented street painter Alaa Awad bring colors, creativity and inspiration to Algiers’ walls.

Entitled “No more white walls“, the campaign allows people to help the cause by simply watching the video. Once it  reaches 3,000 views, cultural laboratory BeitRUKH  will provide the artist all the necessary equipment to paint a mural in Algiers, including the plane ticket. Alaa Awad, one of the five top graffiti artists of the Middle East, is known for his colorful depictions of pharaohs and ancient Egyptian iconography, and this time sets out to transform the walls of Algeria.

“White walls are responsible for the worst illnesses of the world: boredom and empty minds. Indirectly they are the cause of wars, wars being the creation of simple-minded human beings unable to find in life more than unicolor schemes,” says Bassita.

For more information: View the campaign on Bassita‘s website and watch the video here.
