4 Fun Events Happening in the Middle East This August

There is so much going on in the Middle East this summer. We list four creative events happening around the region this August. Check them out!

1) Al Balad Music Festival (Jordan) — Starting this Wednesday, July 29, Amman’s Al Balad Music Festival features a variety of talented performers, bands and musicians all taking the stage in one of the cities ancient roman amphitheaters. Located in the heart of the downtown area, the Odeon Theater offers a unique location for a variety of performers this year, including Tarraband, Jordanian band Al Morabba3 and well-known Tunisian singer and oud player Dhaher Youssef.

2) Beiteddine Art Festival (Lebanon) — Beginning on July 29, this music and arts festival couldn’t be set in a more magical location. Held in the 19th century Beiteddine Palace high in the Chouf mountains, the Beiteddine Art Festival sees as many as 50,000 visitors each year. Performers, both Arab and international, take to the stage in this incredible location each year. This year, some of the concerts include the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Kadim Al Sahir, and Marcel Khalife. If you’re in Lebanon, it’s not to be missed!

3) Dubai International Writers’ Centre Children’s Creative Sessions (UAE) — Held at the Dubai International Writer’s Centre this August 23 – August 26, this series of creative sessions encourages children and youth to explore their talents through creative platforms of art, music and drama. Led by a team of creative authors, actors, and illustrators, the creative sessions will infuse a sense of artistic curiosity and exploration in your children. Learn more on their official site.

4) Egypt’s Music Treasures at the Opera House Summer Festival (Egypt) — Cairo’s Opera House regularly hosts incredible events and performances. This August, a series of amazing Egyptian performances will be shown at the opera house, all at affordable prices. On August 2, El Mastaba Center for Egyptian Folk Music will be celebrating its 15th anniversary with a special open air concert, featuring El Mastaba band. Follow the band here.
