Maxime Chaya

Sportsman, adventurer, climber, author, motivational speaker, and father, Maxime Chaya has pretty much done it all. He has climbed Mt. Everest, as the first person from Lebanon to hoist the Lebanese flag on the highest summit in the world.

He climbed the highest mountains on every continent, known as the “Seven Summits”, and planted the Lebanese flag  on each point. He also skied to the North and South Poles.

Chaya, graduated from the London School of Economics with honors and he regularly visits schools, universities, and clubs to motivate young people to “climb their own Mt. Everest”. He has won 9 major international sporting titles, and he was one of the first Lebanese “Ironman” triathletes in 2002.

In 2009, Chaya wrote a book depicting his journeys to the seven summits called Steep Dreams: My Journey to the Top of the World.

After 57 days, 15 hours, and 49 minutes of rowing a boat, Chaya and his team crossed the Indian Ocean. They departed from the western coast of Australia and rowed 5,801.169 km to Madagascar, arriving Aug. 5, 2013. The team of three were able to set a new speed record for rowing the Indian Ocean, and be the first team of three to row any ocean in the world!
