A picture is worth a thousand words, a collection of photographs from different parts of the Middle East worth a lot more, especially in the case of Rawiya (she who tells a story), a photography collective of 4 women presenting an insider’s view of this region.

The work of the Rawiya founders Myriam Abdelaziz, Tamara Abdul Hadi, Laura Boushnak, and Tanya Habjouqa, will be displayed at the Gulf Photo Plus exhibition running from the evening of September 9 to October 16 at the Gulf Photo Plus Gallery.

The photographers will be presenting various subjects, ranging from access to education for Yemeni women, to an intimate portrait of Egyptian belly dancers, to lighthearted moments for Palestinians with limited freedom of movement, and last but not least, a controlled representation of the people of Ramallah.
