An Art Library in the Park

It’s not everyday in the Gulf you hear about a facilities building converted into a library and cafe in the middle of a park.

The Archive, launched late last year, is yet another interesting Brownbook project; a cultural destination attracting talent that cannot be missed!

Located at the heart of Safa Park, one of Dubai’s oldest and most widely known parks, The Archive in essence is “a meeting point where people are able to exchange ideas through Art, Food, Music, and Culture,” says Librarian and Program Manager Sarah Malki.

Dedicated to becoming the first library in the region to specialize in MENA art and literature, The Archive is also a non-commercial space for people to take part in “events and activities that aren’t readily available in the region.”

The Archive reopened its doors on 16 September after closing for the summer, and is getting ready for their Fall Fair on 12 October.
