Engaging for Social Good

With a volunteer culture emerging in the Arab world, slowly but surely, a platform like Nakhweh came at an optimal time, to stress civic engagement, knowledge sharing, and creative solutions for social problems.

It was founded by Kamel Al Asmar as a non-profit network matching volunteers with volunteering opportunities, offering a social work directory for the Arab world, connecting sustainable ventures to funding opportunities and providing social media workshops for social entrepreneurs.

They also partner with other organizations to push their own initiatives and campaigns, such as ‘Sho El Fekra?’, which gave Jordanian youth an opportunity (twice) to submit their ideas of entrepreneurship with a social edge through a custom Facebook application, empowering and connecting them to transform these ideas into potential successes.

Join in and ‘keep the nakhweh,’ or in other words keep the spirit of helpfulness and giving (as translated from Arabic), which is what the platform is all about!
