Finding Homes for Stray Cats

Injured and abandoned stray cats need to be cared for, and the Feline Friends Dubai are making sure to look after their interests.

The non-profit organization relies on dedicated and responsible volunteers (always in need of more) to rescue and re-home Dubai’s stray cat population by first taking them to veterinarians – to deworm, vaccinate or sterilize them- and placing them in their foster care until permanent residences are found.

More so, they run a Trap-Sterilize-Release program to control the local population of cats, so Dubai doesn’t end up with a massive influx suffering from disease, abuse, and starvation without enough homes waiting for them. Since its conception, 11,300 home-able and healthy cats and kittens have been re-homed and over 16,000 cats sterilized.

Rather than just buying one at a pet store, cat and kitten lovers are encouraged to adopt the new addition to their homes from the Feline Friends Dubai, since “the more people that adopt from us the more we can save,” says Chairperson Lesley Muncey, who was recently nominated as a humanitarian for the Emirates Woman Award.
