Empowering Youth to Become Catalysts of Positive Change

Youth are the makers of their own futures and the main force behind a positive and lasting change in the Arab world. The UAE chapter of the Young Arab Leaders (YAL) know this very well.

Part of the larger pan-Arab, non-profit organization envisioned in 2004 at the World Economic Forum in the Dead Sea, YAL aims to promote education and entrepreneurship among Arab youth.

They focus on leveraging the capabilities, skills and power of their regional network of members to identify and deliver solutions to relevant socio-economic challenges.

Alongside a team of renowned sponsors and partners, YAL was able to impact around 15,264 beneficiaries directly and no less than 61,056 indirectly – an incredible accomplishment in its 9 years of existence.

Their UAE chapter hosted or co-hosted various events with lasting impact in Dubai this year. These include a seminar titled Re-thinking Entrepreneurship in the Middle East: a New Roadmap to Sustainability that took place last April, in addition to last July’s Ramadan Startup Showcase – an annual sohoor  event for YAL members and guests where four startup founders pitched their business concepts in the presence of investors and venture capitalists.

Their upcoming Startup Weekend event will take place on November 28 in Dubai promising to be a highly memorable one, so don’t forget to save the date on your calendars and register with your great ideas!
