Power Cuts Can’t Stop Homework In Gaza

The siege on Gaza imposes a meager daily ration of electricity. Different areas in the strip get only about six hours of electricity per day, with the schedule varying from day to day. So each night, somewhere on the strip you will always find kids doing their homework on the streets–next to a shop with a generator, or by a lit-up mosque or even a gas station.

For though the siege may stop many things that are essential for healthy growth, it cannot stop the Palestinian will for education.
