This Saudi Thug Is Everything but What You Have in Mind

Saudi Arabia’s first rapper in English. The Middle East’s most peaceful rebel. We could come up with several ways to describe him, but our favorite one remains the Saudi Thug. That is, the way he redefines it.

With his rapper bad-ass jargon and a forthright tone, Slow Moe dares to be different and creates lyrics for peace and acceptance, in an earnest bid against racism and artificial divisions.

“You know what the best thing about being a Saudi thug is? You don’t have to be white or black”, he sings in his track, Definition of a Saudi Thug.

Born in 1985 in Madinah, and raised between Denver, Colorado and Jeddah, Moe Mohalhel found the perfect combination of both cultures to forge a blunt music style drenched by messages of unity and self-improvement. “So I will stand, be a real man, tell the world that I lived and sinned, I got a new plan”, his lyrics go.

“I plan on keeping it real and setting a good example by spreading the Muslim essence and moving away from talking about love, sex, drugs, money or fame,” he says.
