The First Saudi Arabian Woman on International TV Still Writes Her Own Facebook Posts

The first Saudi Arabian woman to appear on international television is also the first to be appointed by the United Nations as a Goodwill Ambassador. She’s a Yale fellow, a Young Leader at the World Economic Forum, and… she has 693,473 followers on Facebook.

When you look at Muna AbuSulayman’s Facebook page, you’d be forgiven for thinking she was two different people. Her “About” section showcases her achievements: she’s clearly dedicated her life to helping others. If anyone has a reason to be too busy for Facebook, it’s Muna.

And yet, she engages with her followers on such an individual level and so responsively that you would think she spends all her time on social media. Her Ramadan campaign is a perfect example of how she leads by example.

She announced to her followers: “I need your help. We want to raise funds for 30 great organizations who are helping Syrians Refugees by using social media.

30 days, 30 tweets/posts, 30 organizations on hashtags #help4syria and نساعد_سوريا#…You never know who will see your post and who will be able to help.”

Looking at the two sides of her Facebook page makes you sure: if she can take that much time out of her day to organize this campaign, you can find the time in your day to retweet/share the Syrian aid organizations that she’s highlighting for Ramadan.

Just reading her words will get you inspired for what’s possible in 30 days: “Are you with me? Are we ON? Are you READY? IT starts on the 1st day of RAMADAN”.

And that’s #goodnews.
