Back to School: Dar Al Yasmin Builds Classrooms for Syrians

NGO Dar Al Yasmin, or DAY, has been working non-stop to build a new community-based school in Jordan for the Syrian refugee children.  Finally, the addition to the Qurtuba school has been completed, thanks to the tireless efforts of DAY, Secours Populaire de Paris, the Zaatari Charity and various volunteers from the community. Most of the children have not attended school since they left Syria, and DAY hopes to provide not only continued education, but also a love for knowledge, growth and learning. At the Qurtuba school, the Syrian students will mix in with the existing Jordanian population, increasing their social cohesion in the community.

The new addition to the school includes a computer room which will provide the children with basic computer literacy, in addition to two other new classrooms which will reinstate 40 Syrian children back into the school system.

And that’s #peoplehelpingpeople.
