Guitars for the Children of Tel Rumeida, Palestine

A new crowd funding campaign, entitled Bring Music to the Children of Hebron aims to buy 10 guitars to teach music to a group of children in Hebron, Palestine. Growing up in the village of Tel Rumeida is not without it’s problems. The children are constantly faced with the issues and instability of growing up in an occupied land, and this campaign seeks to bring some innocent joy and useful tools for learning to their everyday lives.

The funds will go directly to the Ibrahimi al-Khalil Society, which is a social association that hosts educational and fun courses for the citizens of Tel Rumeida. They also provide scholarship programs, educational courses in mathematics and English, psychiatric treatment and medical help. Currently, there are 15 children interested in the guitar lessons, but with more funds, the program will be able to reach many more. Anyone who donates will be sent a Palestinian kuffiyeh made in the last remaining kuffiyeh factory, located in Hebron.

This initiative seeks to bring some light-hearted fun to the children of Tel Rumeida, while imparting some valuable skills and allowing them to building friendships in a positive environment.

And that’s #Peoplehelpingpeople.
