This Moroccan Singer Has the Most Soothing Voice

At Barakabits, we love sharing the great talents that emerge from the Arab world. Zahra Hindi, better known by her stage name Hindi Zahra (creative!), is a Franco-Moroccan singer from Khouribga, Morocco. Her musical style – mostly jazz, soul and blues – is beautifully soothing work. While most of her songs are in English, some of her lyrics are in her native Berber language, such as in the song Imik Si Mik.

Hindi Zahra released her first EP in 2009, and in 2010 she won the Prix Constantin, an annual French award for up-and-coming artists, and won the “Victoires de la Musique” award for best World music album in 2011. We highly recommend checking out this rising star. You can also follow her on Facebook and Twitter.
