Arab Youth Wanted: This Contest Will Take You to Italy

The European Training Foundation has launched a contest for Arab youth to participate in the ETF’s 20th anniversary celebrations in Italy. The contest is focused on youth employment, and offers Arab citizens between the ages of 15 and 35 the chance to share their visions on the obstacles, the support, and the education required when looking for a job.

Aspiring participants can share their opinions by posting a two-minute video in English on the ETF4Youth’s Facebook page. “How much do you think that education prepares you to start your own business? How far do you feel that your voice is heard by those who make decisions?” These and other questions will help candidates create their videos, aimed at gathering the perspectives of young people in the Arab Mediterranean countries on entering the labor market.

Participating countries include Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria and Tunisia. The winner, selected by the ETF committee, will be able to visit the European Training Foundation, attend the 20th anniversary party, and enjoy Turin the capital of the Piedmont region in northwest Italy. The committee will be looking for the most original ideas and creative communication styles. Applications are open until October 10, 2014.
