The Digital Media Forum Takes Off For the First Time In Cairo

For the first time in Egypt, the Digital Media Forum kicked off today, gathering more than 500 information technology and digital media experts from the Arab world.

Under the theme The Digital Experience: Challenges and Dynamics, the event, whose three previous editions were held in Dubai, moved to Cairo this year due to the importance of the Egyptian market in the Arab and North African region, its organizers said.

It is one of the largest labor intensive markets with a promising growth potential that can qualify digital media companies for a privileged position on the digital media and IT technology map in the region,” said Najla Semaan Mazboudi, Founder and CEO of Digital Media Forum.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia have the most highly engaged social media users in the region“, said Mohamed Abdelmottaleb, CEO of Trendak. “We cannot afford not to know what these audiences say. Social Media is a rich source of information about how our audiences feel about what is going on”, he explained. Tips, media trends, and strategies for audience engagement were only some of the topics discussed at the event’s first round, which will continue tomorrow.
