The Eye To Heart Film Festival Celebrates Diversity in Tunisia

Themed “Diversity in Tribute”, this year’s edition of the Eye to Heart Film Festival concluded last September 27 in Tunisia, where Iraqi film ‘War child’ was awarded with $1,500. The Diversity Award, for the same amount, was given to ‘Spread Peace among You,’ from Tunisia, whereas Palestinian Mahmoud Dahdouh was awarded Best Photography.

Held at the Cultural and Sporting Center for Youth in El Menzah, the Human Rights festival is an opportunity for young, aspiring filmmakers and photographers to spread their message of positive social change.  Among the winners, Tunisian ‘Social Suicide’ and ‘Something Nice’, from Egypt both received great recognition.

The festival was hosted by the American Islamic Congress and its partners Seattle International Film Festival, The Harbers Foundation, Here Media. AIC is an independent, non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to building interfaith and interethnic understanding and to supporting human and civil rights in Muslim majority countries.
