This Jordanian Company Plans on Dominating the 3D Industry

Mixed Dimensions used to be a Jordanian gaming company before co-founders Muhammad Taslaq and Bahaa Abu Nojaim decided to focus on 3D printing. Now they’ve acquired almost one million dollars in funding, opened up offices in California and are now acquiring online 3D marketplaces. It’s safe to say these entrepreneurs are doing well!

Mixed Dimensions re-purposed the design software they used to model video games into MXD3D, an easy-to-use modeling tool that allows the user to create his own design and then actually check if it will print out alright. The idea was so successful that MXD3D managed to raise almost one million dollars of funding through Silicon Badia. It has over 11,000 users from more than 100 countries already. But if that wasn’t enough, MXD recently purchased three online marketplaces for 3D designs (maker6.com, makerpicks.com, and 3Dhippy.com). This means that users can now not only upload their own designs, but they can check out ready-made product designs and print them through the website. This makes MXD3D a go-to destination for all things related to 3D printing!

It’s refreshing to see a company originating from the Middle East aiming for a big industry (the 3D printing industry is estimated at around 2.5 billion dollars).
