“Dispatch Beirut” Is Rebuilding the City with Legos

Dispatch Beirut is a movement that started back in 2012 by Pamela Haydamous and Lea Tasso. The movement aims to reconstruct parts of Beirut with colorful Legos that snap together to create urban landscape elements that add a unique flavor to Beirut.

Making their urban statements and reviving neglected spaces in their beloved city, the two founders were inspired to start the movement after being inspired by the installations that were created by German artist, Jan Vormann who is responsible for starting the global dispatch movement.

With their “little bricks of hope”, the group began their projects with just 12 participants and now has expanded to 50 people showing up to their rebuilding festivals. Their projects include rebuilding the Calle bar (which is now known as the Lego bar), as well as a construction of the Lebanese flag in celebration of the Lebanese Independence Day and many other small projects all around Beirut.
