RiseUp Update: StartUp MENA Awards €2000 Prize to Top Pitching Start-Up

Egyptian startup ZEX was awarded yesterday with a €2000 cash prize at the “Investor Lounge” hosted by Startup MENA, a continuation of Egypt’s Rise Up Summit held last October in Cairo.

With a killer pitch, the recently launched ZEX team presented their app at the Investor Lounge to 30 international and local investors eager to invest. “It was an amazing experience — the level of knowledge from mentors and investors was beyond any events we have attended in Egypt,” said Moataz Kotb, Founder of ZEX.

The pitching line up consisted of some of Egypt’s most interesting fundraising tech startups, selected from among 100 applicants: Iqraaly, SpeakOL (former Naqeshny), Wall Street Chamber, Instabug and Zex. “We are very happy with the turnout of this edition of Investor Lounge. We couldn’t have asked for a better line-up of startups,” said Jakob Kistorp, founding partner of VentureScout.

The startups were invited to pitch their business idea in five minutes followed by a short Q&A from the investors and mentoring sessions.
