Support A Crowdfunding Campaign That Could Change the Way We Receive Good News

When the global narrative on the Middle East is based primarily on what is provided by mainstream media, someone needs to step in and make sure that people around the globe can find other sources of news, media and information about what’s actually happening on the ground. Here at BarakaBits, we have made that our mission. We want to provide news that is uplifting, positive, and motivating, and show that there really are many sources of inspiration around the MENA region. Whether it be a grassroots campaign to raise awareness about the importance of books and literature in Lebanon, or a group of individuals who dress up like clowns for the Syrian kids in Jordan’s Za’atari Refugee camp, there region is brimming with passionate individuals who want to make a difference.

That’s why we have decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign. We want to extend our reach and our ability to cover all the uplifting stories in the region, and to do so, we want to launch a youth employment program. Our aim is to find and hire talented individuals in the Middle East in the fields of web reporting, journalism and media, and train them. By doing so, we give individuals from economically challenged areas a chance to better themselves, better their lives and in turn, better their communities. We see this as a cycle — one that will leave an impactful mark on the region. By training youth, you not only give them skills they can use for the future to provide for themselves and their families, but you empower them to do other good things for their direct communities.

Our campaign will be launching tomorrow, December 15. Choose to support an effort that could very well change the way we get news in the Middle East. It’s about being a part of a global movement — share the crowdfunding link, tell your friends and if you can, contribute. Because to us, it’s important to make a positive change, and to be able to deliver real stories that have the ability to empower, impact and sustain a better future.
