Meet The Saudi Singer that Beat the ‘Gender Game’

A message for women to stand up for their rights, and a call to action in a world that still has a long way to fully reach gender equality, ‘Gender Game’ is Tamtam‘s first single. Born in Saudi Arabia and based in Los Angeles, the artist unapologetically speaks about the social challenges faced by women in her song, a mixture of pop, blues, and Arabic influences.

“I won’t share my name, I won’t share my name in this gender game; If I say my name or I show my face I should be ashamed,” she says, unveiling gender prejudice and putting words to a conflict that women victims of aggression endure every day.

The video was released last October as part of her #GenderGame campaign, a direct call for women to not focus on the limitations of a patriarchal society, but instead feel proud in their own skin and focus on what they can give the world.
