Look Out: It’s Literature Month as the Cairo International Book Fair Kicks Off

One of the biggest book festivals in the world, the Cairo International Book Fair attracts about two million visitors every year. This year, inaugurating its 46th edition on January 28, the event kicked off with a three-day professional program aimed at linking writers and publishers from around the globe.

The General Egyptian Book Organization (GEBO), which is responsible for organizing the event, announced that this year will be 70,000 books on display and 740 publications from 29 different countries, Egypt’s Daily News reported.

A must-visit for literature enthusiasts, Cairo’s book fair is not only the top largest book fair in the Arab world, but also the oldest.
