A Starter Program in Oman that Aims for Innovation

Tena Peck discusses the benefits and challenges of start-ups in the region

Social enterprise C3: Consult and Coach for a Cause hosted their first training initiative outside of the UAE in Muscat, Oman on February 21. The invitation to host came from the Omani community platform called Knowledge Oman, which is committed to instilling innovation through a selection of online-based, community driven initiatives. The event took place at the National Business Center, where C3 presented a mini-starter program to the Omani social entrepreneurs, engaging them with a dialogue about innovation, knowledge and regional growth.

C3 Founder and CEO, Medea Nocentini, stated that “The C3 team is extremely excited to be able to share our expertise on social enterprise models and their successful strategies with the vibrant Omani community of entrepreneurs and potential volunteers. Thanks to the amazing support of our partner Knowledge Oman, we will have the tremendous opportunity to assess local social entrepreneurs’ needs and potential. We look forward to adapting our programs to the Omani business environment”. Medea, Tena Pick, co-founder and CEO at The Sustainability Platform, and Yousra Diab, Head of C3 Experts Management, also shared case studies, exemplary business models, factors of success and some of the benefits and challenges of being a social entrepreneur within the current market.
