Khamsa, the Animated Short Film that Opens a Window On Algerian Culture

With impeccable animations and a meaningful message, filmmakers Chiheb Khaled, Kamal Zakour, and Chafik M. Rouag are finalizing the production of an animated short film aimed at opening a window on Algeria’s culture.

The project is entitled Khamsa, in reference to Fatima’s hand, a symbol frequently used as an amulet against the evil eye in North Africa. The story features a child hero discovering a mysterious world who is protected by the khamsa. Although the short film was yet not released as graphics are still incomplete, the trailer offers a promising outlook for Algerian cinema fans.
