The New Art School Opens Doors in Jerusalem

Despite some of the challenges that blockade Jerusalem, Al Ma’mal Foundation, located in the Old City, has been tirelessly dedicated to maintaining a center and threshold to promote the arts. Now, the center will officially be opening doors to an art center that will specialize in teaching a variety of art courses in Arabic, for anyone who is interested.

The New Art School just held their official opening day on March 4, and opened their doors to answer questions, welcome students and build a connection with the local community. Maintaining Jerusalem’s creativity and inviting people to get involved and get creative, the New Art School hopes to become a staple in Jerusalem’s artistic community. The school seeks to nurture a young generation of professionals that are trained in the arts to help improve the market, eventually creating more innovative job opportunities in Palestine. Some of the courses that will be offered at the New Art School include digital photography taught by Rula Halawani, documentary filmmaking by Mahasen Nasser Eldin and painting by Ruba Salameh.
