This Enterpreneur is Bringing Back a Traditional Oral Hygiene Tool

Hussna El-Yacoubi is the woman behind TrueBrush, a company that aims to present an alternative form of oral hygiene to the mainstream. Miswak, a traditional twig that has been used for centuries in the Middle East and Central and Southeast Asia to keep teeth clean, is a much more environmentally sustainable device for keeping up with your oral health. TrueBrush cleans teeth naturally without water or toothpaste, and kills bacteria that could potentially cause gum disease, all while whitening your teeth.
Now, Hussna is launching TrueBrush officially after a successful crowdfunding campaign, and has received official dentist approval from an American dentist. Dr Ahmad Ezze states that the major benefits of the miswak are the convenience of it, being that you can literally bring them with you anywhere on the go and floss and clean your teeth regardless of where you are. “Because each unit of miswak is vacuum packed, you have a lot more flexibility of where you can take it and where you can store it,” he adds.
For those looking for a more organic, natural way to fight cavities, gum disease and gingivitis, Dr Ezze says: “I absolutely recommend the TrueBrush to my patients. It is a great addition to your arsenal in the fight against cavities and gum disease.”
