NaTakallam: A Different Kind of Arabic Learning

There is no better way to learn a language than through conversations with natives. This is the simple idea from which the new initiative NaTakallam stems. “Natakallam” is the Arabic for we speak, and is now the name of an initiative that helps learners learn Ammiyyah Arabic- local dialect rather than the classical language, through online sessions with natives.

Learners are one side of the story, but it does not end here. The native teachers are Syrians in Lebanon, refugees who have been struggling with employment because of displacement. Turns out there is one better way to learn Arabic than through conversations with natives, knowing that you are offering them jobs.
