Clown Me In: Discover the Clown in You

Every adult has a goofy side, one that is preferably kept under a leash in public. Some people are too afraid to unleash their ‘inner clown’. Well, Clown Me In,  a clown theater initiative based in Lebanon,  is on a mission is to ‘unlock’ the clown inside!

Clown Me In, supported by Beirut DC is founded by Sabine Choucair from Lebanon and Gabriela Munoz from MexicoSabine and Gabriela take their team to places where laughter is much needed. They have performed within Palestinian, Mexican, Lebanese, Indian, Brazilian, British and indigenous communities. They visit the refugee camps in some of these countries bringing sunshine to what may seem like eternal rain. They also use humor to address and create awareness regarding important current issues. Check out how they humorously make a statement about Lebanon’s garbage crisis!

Their aim is to, “discover and accept the Clown that lies beneath each of us, and let it coexist with oneself in society”. That may sound a bit scary to some people, right? Can you imagine a bunch of adults and children clowning around, publicly? With Clown Me In, you no longer have to imagine!

¨We are all clowns really but we´ve spent most of our lives trying to hide this embarrassing reality under layers of intelligence, sensibility, sophistication and social nicety¨. (clownmein.com)
