Turkish Foundation Opens Public Photo Exhibition in Istanbul’s Metro

Perhaps the best way to catch people’s attention is to take your cause to the people directly. Our Heritage Foundation, a foundation located in Turkey, has organized a small but meaningful exhibition in what may be the strangest place ever, Istanbul’s Metro.

Down on Istanbul’s Metro, passersby will notice a series of photos lining the walls. Pictures of Al-Aqsa Mosque and other historically important locations in Jerusalem stand at attention, calling on the people to just take a look, because even a glimpse is enough to support and acknowledge the existence of Palestine.

This public photo exhibition is titled ‘Dear Passenger, Please Stand Up and Look at Jerusalem‘. According to Sabah Addin Yagit, deputy director of Our Heritage Foundation, the aim of this exhibition is to ‘draw attention to Jerusalem and al-Aqsa Mosque’.

Not only is the exhibition meant to raise awareness, it is also a way of strengthening ties between the Palestinian and Turkish people. This exhibition started off February 25 2016, in central Taksim station and is set to spread to other stations across the city. In addition, the exhibition will hopefully continue to spread across the country and raise money for the benefit of the residents of Palestine.

Don’t forget to leave a smile :)!
