If you’re familiar with names in the Tech world, then you’re definitely familiar with Silicon Valley, the magical land that all startups aspire to reach. For those who are not familiar with it, Silicon Valley is located in California, and each year it holds tons of accelerator and programs. 500 Startups, a prestigious Silicon Valley global venture capital seed fund and network, has just accepted a Palestinian-based startup called Mashvisor into their program. This makes Mashvisor the first Palestinian startup to participate in the program!

Launched in Ramallah less than two years ago, Mashvisor is co-founded by Peter Abualzolof and Mohammed Jebrini. In December 2015, the startup received an investment from Ibtikar Fund (Innovation, in Arabic), a disruptive fund that invests in innovative Palestinian companies at their earliest stages. Today, it’s one of 44 companies from around the world to join 500 Startup’s 19th round of acceleration!

Mashvisor developed online platform automates and analyzes nationwide real estate data to empower investors to find traditional and short-term investment properties, and optimize their rental performance. In simpler terms, it helps real estate investors quickly find traditional and Airbnb investment properties in the US.

After being accepted into the program, Peter told Wamda,

“Becoming part of 500 Startups is a great honor for us. Not only does it validate our hard work, but becoming part of this esteemed network will continue to open doors for us long after we finish the program.”

He also added, “The program is overwhelming but educational, we’re gaining value daily. 500 Startups is delivering what they promised and preparing us to take advantage of their network.”

As participants in the program, the Ramallah-based startup will receive advice from experienced mentors and hands-on support from the global 500 Startup community and network. This is a great step towards success and innovation for the team at Mashvisor, and it is definitely a one-up for Palestine!

Don’t forget to leave a smile 🙂
