Have Your Coffee with a Side of TV Show at These Middle Eastern Cafes

You may know that coffee is an essential part of Middle Eastern everyday life, but did you know that the region is now letting its cafes be inspired by famous TV shows?

Take a look at these two examples!

Walter’s Coffee (Istanbul, Turkey)

Step into the newly opened Walter’s Coffee and immerse yourself in the magical (chemical) world of Walter White, the main character of the famous show Breaking Bad. From the Periodic table decorations on the walls and measuring (coffee) cups to the yellow overall dressed baristas, this coffee shop has not shied away from any means to make their visitors feel like they have actually entered Walter’s chemistry lab. Combined with the clean, contemporary design of the cafe and the delicious smells of freshly brewed coffee and homemade pancakes, this might just be one of the coolest cafes in Istanbul today.

Central Perk (Saïda, Lebanon)

Is FRIENDS one of your favorite shows? Then don’t miss the opportunity to visit this restaurant and cafe in Lebanon! Inspired by the cafe from the original show, the Lebanese Central Perk provides a space with a homey and relaxed atmosphere exactly like the one in the show. The cafe logo, menu and “Service” signs are there, of course, but that is not all! With the help of some comfortable, orange and green couches, small coffee tables and dusty brick walls, this cafe really makes you feel like you are in the right place to meet FRIENDS. The only difference: this cafe tempts its visitors with the aromas of Lebanese dishes, and lets customers enjoy live Lebanese music on weekend nights. Plus: this cafe offers crepes named after each character from the show, and the opportunity to have printed photos of you and your friends hung on the cafe walls.
