Seedstars, the global community and platform for tech entrepreneurs and startups in emerging and fastest-growing markets, has officially opened its first hub in Morocco, and second in the MENA region. Seedstars also announced up to USD 500,000 investment grants per startup in Morocco through different initiatives like the Investment Readiness Program and the Seedstars World competition.

The hub, successfully launched in partnership with Kowork, a company bringing innovation to the office and coworking industry in Africa, is already operational and welcomed a large number of entrepreneurs, investors and key ecosystem stakeholders during its open house event on June 18th.

The applications for the first batch of the Investment Readiness Program in Morocco, are open and starts on July 5th in Seedspace Casablanca. Startups enlisted will get the opportunity to raise up to USD

500,000 as announced by Alisée de Tonnac, CEO of Seedstars during the Seedstars Summit in Lausanne last April.

“The program challenges the traditional acceleration model by creating a unique mix, designed for startups to enable them to secure funding by working in different areas of their business.” said Aziz Oujdi, General Manager at Seedspace Casablanca.

Applications can be submitted at irp.seedstars.com.

Participating startups will relocate to the brand new Seedspace Casablanca offices side-by-side with other promising tech startups and will receive direct mentorship from fundraising experts, including Seedstars’ CIO Charlie Graham-Brown, to build their fundraising strategy. Online training and discounts on softwares and online tools, are also available to all entrepreneurs. They will then be able to pitch their business ideas on regular demo days gathering international investors and venture capitals interested specifically in their market and various tech industries and raise up to USD 500,000 investment by Seedstars investment team and network of investors.

Seedspace Casablanca is located on the fifth floor of the Kowork Massira building on 3 Boulevard Al Massira Al Khadra, in the business heart of Casablanca. Having a dedicated coworking area and offices, Seedspace Casablanca will focus on attracting entrepreneurs, freelancers and digital nomads in search of a vibrant and dynamic community that want to create an impact in society through technology and innovation.

“Thanks to Seedstars’ experience in fostering entrepreneurial communities in emerging markets, we are enriching our services with a high value added proposal towards all Moroccan startups.” commented Kowork’s CEO, Reda LAYT.

Being part of the largest network of campuses for entrepreneurs in emerging markets, Seedspace Casablanca is the 13th hub by Seedstars in more than 10 cities around the world including: Abidjan, Bogota, Cairo, Cape Town, Dar es Salaam, Geneva, Lagos, Lima, Medellin, Mexico City, Nur-Sultan, and Yangon.

I was born in Palestine but raised with the fireflies in Georgia. My teenage years were spent being the Muslim nerd who was known as the bookworm of the school. That followed me back to Palestine, to develop into being the girl with the big vocabulary. I spent most of my high-school days cursing Newton for not eating that apple. My English Literature Bachelor's degree was only obtained because I'm a nerd for literature and my minor in Translation pretty much pays the bills, thank you Birzeit University.Creative writing is my passion and reading is my escape from reality into a world where everything is the way you imagine it to be.
