When you’re away from home, it’s the little things you miss the most. For the many Palestinians living abroad, “Shop In Palestine” offers a practical way to keep those small treasures close at hand.

Thankfully, since 2004, Shop in Palestine has enabled people to order local goods online from anywhere in the world. In the last ten years, it has delivered more than 5000 packages of local Palestinian products to those outside the country. Favorite goods include Palestinian folkloric clothing and gowns, scarves, cleaning materials, especially soap and skin creams, and handmade accessories.

The website plays serves as an intermediary for local sellers, and is the first shop of its kind in Palestine. It is the brainchild of two brothers, Ameer and Darwish Qaymeri. Ameer is makes the email links between the electronic workshops, department stores and people, and advertises their products with great photos, while Darwish handles customer inquiries.

According to Ameer, the mission of their website is “to introduce Palestinian culture into each and every home worldwide, to support and defend the Palestinian cause, and to provide essential support for hundreds of women and families who are surviving the hard life in Palestine.”
