Abjad Design: Modernizing Arabic Typography with Innovative Branding

Abjad Design studio was founded by Sheikha Bin Dhaher and Diana Hawatmeh: Two young Arab women with a fierce passion for typography and graphics. Hoping to unite their love for graphics, Arabic and imagination, the duo combined their talents to produce items that speak volumes. The term abjad itself is the Semitic, consonantal, rectilinear writing system. Based on a series of root words and written from right to left, the Arabic script is one that uses the abjad structure.

Focusing on the formation of abstract and expansive design solutions and out-of-the-box branding methods, Abjad seamlessly creates designs that are an amalgamation of modernity, Arabic script and innovative strategy. Being that most of their clients are in the arts, culture and fashion industries, in addition to entrepreneurs just starting out and in need of a creative business brand, and start-ups, the pair can focus on imaginative designs that are both eye-catching and visually intricate.
