With the humanitarian crisis happening in Syria, and the absence of international humane policies and agreements, individuals and organizations are working on various funding projects to support Syrians. The latest is “Soup for Syria”, the self-published cookbook that celebrates shared humanity through food and recipes. The cookbook is a product of a collaboration of celebrity chefs with author and photographer Barbara Abdeni Massaad.

“Moushabeck wrote that the book will be launched with a benefit concert on September 27, and that “tens of people and numerous organizations – churches, mosques, synagogues, etc… – are planning events. Some will do soup parties in their homes, neighborhoods, and communities; others will take tables and sell the books at farmers markets; and others will do benefit concerts. I am heartened by the outpouring of support.”
