Shaikh Isa Bin Ali Al-Khalifa Award for Volunteer Work was held in Bahrain yesterday. The event, conceived to commemorate the Arab Volunteer Work Day on the 15th of September, rewarded prominent volunteers from the sixteen Arab countries that are members of the Arab Union for Volunteer Work and five figures from five continents.
In its third edition, the award sought to create a healthy competition among NGOs and civil society members and to recognize efforts of Arab volunteers who were given the opportunity to network and establish contacts throughout the event. The event was organized by Alkalima Attayba with the collaboration of the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program.
