Did you ever have a vision that you gave up when too many challenges stood in your way? If so, you need to know about this Bedouin girl’s journey. SAMAR, named for this heroine, is an engaging film about a 15-year-old girl who dared to dream, and more importantly, made this dream come true.

Struggling with the demanding life and routine common to Bedouins in Jordan, she discovers that her stamina–honed from juggling hour-long daily trips equipped her not only to compete in sports championships, but to shine as their star.

SAMAR is a true reflection of what girls from this region, born under harsh conditions, can accomplish. Persevering through her studies despite of her circumstances, she wants her excellence in sports to be an example to her siblings, to make them believe in themselves and to feel just as special as others.

“Her dream is our reality,” exlplained film director Mohammad Rahahleh at the screening of SAMAR. In fact, she did more when she triumphed, proving that the sky is the limit. SAMAR is one of the many inspiring films that was shown at the Dubai International Film Festival last week.
