Presently in its 4th year, the Capture the Spirit of Ramadan International Competition (IRPC) invites photographers to share images of Muslims around the world celebrating the Holy Month. Founded under the context of “Bridging cultures and inspiring creativity”, the competition hopes to invite people to share in the diversity and unifying components of Ramadan, showcasing the beauty of Islam and creating the world’s first and only Ramadan-themed book and magazine. Capture the Spirit of Ramadan recently launched the first international photography exhibition at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, part of a world-touring exhibition that will travel to London for Eid and then on to the Islamic Museum of Australia.  The competition features an impressive jury panel, including National Geographic’s award winning photographer Steve McCurry, World Press Photo judge and Oxford lecturer Dr. Shahidul Alam, and British Muslim photographer Peter Sanders, to name a few.

The Capture the Spirit of Ramadan initiative is a non-profit, non-partisan Social Entrepreneurship project by award-winning boutique creative firm StudioBasel. There is still a chance to submit photos to the competition, at ramadanphotography@gmail.com.
