Throughout history, tattoos have been used in different cultures for multiple purposes such as:to show the person’s social class, for religious and ceremonial rituals or simply as a form of art. Tattoos  are claimed to have existed since 12,000 years BC, as many records have been found proving their existence and practice during that time; i.e., that of the iceman body and the Egyptian female mummy.

Today, tattoos are still popular and they vary in size, color, shape and message. Some people ink objects or pictures on their bodies while others use letters of languages like Chinese, Latin or Arabic, due to their elegant calligraphy. The trend of getting inked with Arabic letters is becoming very popular and can be seen among famous celebrities.

Here we have 5 celebrities with Arabic tattoos:

1.The actress Angelina Jolie’s Arabic tattoo in her arm says “Al Azzema”, which translates to ‘determination of firm will’. Indeed, this woman is of very strong will!
