It’s not terrorism. It’s not polarization. Neither is unemployment, corruption, or bad governance. As four young cartoonists Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, and Syria meet in Tunis to find common ground to address social challenges in the Middle East, they unveil the unexpected cause underlying them.

The result of the meeting, this 2-minute speed drawing video, eloquently offers food for thought for those seeking peace in the Middle East. Coming from radically different countries but united by the same difficulties, these four creative minds tell the story of non-violent communication: the most urgent problem the region has to face.

The video was created by Search for Common Ground, an international non-profit organization that aims to ignite shared solutions to destructive conflicts.
