Despite being stained by conflict, stagnating poverty and pressing population growth, the Arab world remains filled with hope : according to a recent survey, 41% have positive expectations for the future. The study, conducted by Bayt.com and YouGov among 5,075 residents in the MENA region, found that 35% estimate that job opportunities will increase in the coming six months, while business conditions are expected to improve by 54% of them. When asked about their evaluation of the regional situation, 27% believe that economies across MENA have improved in the last six months; and even though another 27% thinks the situation has declined, 42% anticipate an improved economy in the coming 6 months.
Satisfaction with careers is also considerably high , with 43% of respondents expressing happiness with their current career growth opportunities and 21% considering their personal financial situation to be better than six months ago. “On the whole, the outlook for the region is a good one,” says Suhail Al-Masri, VP of Sales at Bayt.com.
