Palestine Lifestyle Wellness Inside Out 6 Smiles by Jana Al Mawed 24/08/2015 Farashe , which means “butterfly” in Arabic, is a nonprofit and volunteer-based community yoga movement based in the heart of Ramallah and working throughout occupied Palestine. Farashe’s mission is to make yoga accessible for all living in Palestine, as a means to manage stress, improve healthy living, build resilience, and strengthen community bonds. “As reflected in our name, Farashe believes that yoga is a catalyst for transformation and growth within ourselves, families, communities and world” says the non-profit organisation’s admins.

“We believe that yoga does not only exist during a class and on a mat, but can be integrated in all aspects of our lives–whether it be through physical exercise and healthy nutrition, or through community service and development,” they add. The Community Tool Box is celebrating its 20th anniversary by hosting an Out of the Box Prize to honor innovative and promising approaches to promoting community health and development happening in communities worldwide. Farashe Yoga Ramallah has been admitted into this contest and is one of the finalists, but needs your votes to win the grand prize.
