Saudi Arabia #Barakability Business Social Entrepreneurship Women-Led Enterprises Youth in Business 12 Smiles by Sadad Talhouni 6 days ago Saudi woman Lujain Al Ubaid runs Tasamy , an incubator dedicated to empowering Saudis by giving them the opportunities to develop community programs. For the past three years, she has been determinedly battling bureaucratic systems in trying to launch social entrepreneurship programs for young Saudis. This month, Al Ubaid has finally achieved that dream, and Tasamy is launching Kun , a 60-day social entrepreneurship program that takes young Saudis eager to improve their communities and coaches them on devising their own social initiatives, under supervision by experienced professionals.
Tasamy will also be launching an intensive Fellowship Program that should last a whole year, and will mentor its members through the detailed process of establishing social initiatives, from training, to funding to mentorship, with the hope of finally including them in their investor networks. Tasamy hopes to improve the state of social entrepreneurship in Saudi Arabia, where it is plagued by challenging regulations, inexperience and a lack of familiarity with the concept itself. Lujain remains hopeful however, and is looking forward to success on the horizon.
