UAE Discovery Lifestyle Science & Technology The Arts TV, Film & Online Video 111 Smiles by Valentina Primo 3 months ago “Make sleep bombs, not real bombs” , says Peeta Planet ’s spirited team. As it turns out, when you are travelling the world and simultaneously producing a TV show, taking a nap can be something of a luxury–or a chance to start a trend. Take the show’s #Sleepbomb campaign: a collection of hilarious shots where a sleeper is caught by surprise , with a positive message that followers have started to echo.
“ Our team really got into the #sleepbomb game during our travels, and we gave it an interesting twist: since our show is about addressing stereotypes, and the Middle East and Arabs are more often than not associated with bombs, we picked up on this reference and called it this”, says Peeta’s mastermind Mohammad Al-Awaadhi. The campaign was initially aimed at creating excitement on the road and bringing the crew together, but as followers start sleepbombing each other on Instagram , it’s taking on a life of its own. Though he admits that the idea of sleepbombing is not theirs, Peeta’s attempt is “to create our own trend.
We want to show the world a different side to Middle Easterners ”, says Mohamed enthusiastically. The travel show’s second season, airing soon, has already received 105,000 views of its trailer. For more information — Peeta Planet’s website.
