It’s always an exciting move to buy a new car, but selling an old one can be challenging, especially in the Middle East. Selling your old car for a good price requires you to make some important considerations. If you want the draw most cash from your used car, you should consider selling it privately. It’s not as tough as you think. The process may take a few weeks. You need to advertise your car and maintain it to attract potential buyers. You can get a good deal if you are able to attract a good buyer. Listed below are some tips that can help you sell your used car.

1. Clean and Repair Your Car:

Perfection cannot be the trait of a used car. However, you can increase the resale value of your old car. You should refurbish it inside and out to show the buyer that you have treated it with love. For instance, you can wash it and wax it, replace old floor mats and windshield wipers with new ones, refill the car’s fluids and tiers. All these efforts show the potential buyers that you have been a responsible owner of the car. You can have your car looking at its best with less than a hundred dollars. You can also have those scratches, dings, and dents repaired as it will translate to a higher sales price. Another tip here is to use a good car smell or air freshener for your car.

2. Price It Right:

It’s better to price your car competitively. Don’t price your old car too high if you don’t want to scare off potential buyers. Of course, you want the most money from your old car, especially if you are planning to pay the cash from the sale as a down payment of your new purchase. You can go online and find plenty of platforms like Yahoo! Autos to gauge the fair market value of your car. You need to provide car information like mileage, condition, and model of the car to receive the private party price as well as the trade-in value of your car. You must know the clear difference between make and model of the car to provide accurate information to know the right market value of your car for the area of your residence.

3. Advertise Your Car:

After determining the market value of your car, you have to spread the word that you have a worthy car to sell. Use a sale sign on the back or the side window of the car. Clearly print your phone number and “For Sale” on a paper and stick to your car. You might be able to get a potential buyer while commuting to your office. Another good option to advertise your car is to run ads of your car on national or local sites. Website postings are an efficient way to attract potential customers. Include descriptive information about your vehicle. Post clear images of your car from all angles. This way, your posting will attract well informed and ready to buy shoppers. You can also opt for traditional classified ads. You can advertise your car in a local newspaper. This is the tried and tested method to attract good buyers.

I was born in Palestine but raised with the fireflies in Georgia. My teenage years were spent being the Muslim nerd who was known as the bookworm of the school. That followed me back to Palestine, to develop into being the girl with the big vocabulary. I spent most of my high-school days cursing Newton for not eating that apple. My English Literature Bachelor's degree was only obtained because I'm a nerd for literature and my minor in Translation pretty much pays the bills, thank you Birzeit University.Creative writing is my passion and reading is my escape from reality into a world where everything is the way you imagine it to be.
